Cheng Xing, Cambridge Massachusetts

Cheng Xing is a lifestyle photographer whose work is a tribute to the analog film, blending its characteristic warmth and soft palettes in crisp details through modern digital techniques. His work is a deliberate study in color and light, capturing the spontaneous moments of daily life and the thoughtful arrangements of studio compositions.

Academically, Cheng holds bachelor's degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science from Bowdoin College, where he also served as the Senior Class president.

On the athletic front, Cheng was the captain of Bowdoin's track and field team, claimed multiple New England region titles and NCAA national qualifiers. He broke Bowdoin’s oldest breakable school record, which stood for 87 years, with his long jump of 23 feet and 11.75 inches. After graduating, Cheng pivoted from the anaerobic side from sprints and jumps on the track to the endurance challenges of road cycling.

Professionally, Cheng is a senior business analyst for an insurance marketplace in Boston. His experience spans investment banking, consulting, start-ups, art museums, and hospitality during his undergraduate journey.

While photography might be the first of Cheng's passions to evolve into a professional endeavor, Cheng simmers with ambition to blend his culinary and coffee connoisseurship into entrepreneurial ventures. He takes pride in making carbonara and is fascinated by the art of specialty coffee. Although his tenor saxophone may now play a quieter role in his life, his love for R&B music remains as resonant as ever.

I cook and make coffee!

I shoot film, too
